• Bitterroot Saw Buck Tehama Bars-Small available for burros, small mules, small horses and ponies - appropriate size of pack animal for a Biterroot saw Buck Small is 500-800 lbs. Burro tree is 19 1/2" long with a gap of 14" between the tree bars. Humane bars are not available for the small Bitterroot Saw buck.

Don't forget to purchase a pack pad if you don't have one. A pack pad is bigger than a riding saddle pad, you need the larger pad for the pack saddle to protect your pack animal. We offer two different pack pads, the felt pad bottom or the Kodel fleece pad bottom (as seen on all my horses).

REENACTOR BITTERROOT SAW BUCK

We can provide you with a Sawbuck Pack Saddle that is as close to the 1800's US Calvary as modern materials allow.

Our saddlemaker has original Calvary saddles and will make your sawbuck as authentic to the time period as material allows.

The Mast company made all the US Calvary brass conway buckles. Mast has since gone out of business, but sold their molds to a company our saddlemaker has access to.

• Same materials as above EXCEPT:
• Hermann oak #1 harness leather, dyed brown to make it look older.
• All straps will have white stitching.
• All hardware will be solid brass conway buckles that the US Calvary used by the Mast company. (You can request brass roller buckles but it isn't authentic.)
• Double mohair pack cinch (horse hair cinches are no longer being made - if you know where to get them let me know)
• Breast collar will have straps with brass conway buckles instead of the nickel plated snap.
