HUNTER camping canvas tent is made of a high
quality canvas "Army Duck - Double Fill"
Click canvas tent to view
4 more canvas tent models.
Hunter camping canvas tent with 5' side walls provide significantly more
headroom than a canvas tent with 4' side walls.
The price difference between a 4' wall and 5' camping canvas tents is
minimal and the weight is only 2 -3 pounds. The Hunter is a very good winter tent.
CANVAS TENT MATERIAL
- 10 oz Double Fill Untreated - Army Duck: Untreated and
naturally water repellant but not treated for mildew or water resistance.
Untreated camping canvas tents will usually shrink 8 - 10% and is
not recommended.
- 10.1 oz Double Fill Sunforger - Army Duck: This camping canvas
tent is treated twice for mildew and water resistance.
Will not shrink more than 1-3%. Water and mildew resistance recommended for all winter tents.
- 10.1 oz Double Fill Sunforger Fire Resistant - Army Duck:
Same as Sunforger but treated for fire resistance. Canvas tent
will burn only if there is a continuous flame. Once the flame source
is removed the canvas will stop burning.
- The Hunter camping canvas tent for sale can be modified/custom made to almost any specification. Stovejack can be placed in sidewalls, roof or front wall or back wall. Windows can be placed wherever you want them, except in the roof.. Also available are zippered corners with rollup sides with tie strings. Awnings, porches and cook shacks can be ordered at time of tent purchase. Or you can order an awning, porch or cookshack for a tent you already have. Canvas room dividers are also available that tie to rafters of an internal frame on this camping wall tent.. These canvas room dividers have a zipper centered in the room divider. Flap doors are also an option if you do not want a zippered door. Tent wall height from 5 - 8 feet is also an option. Eave socks, same design as ridge socks, can also be added to your hunter tent if you want to connect your tent frame to the frame for an awning, porch or cookshack. If you want a custom, quality made camping canvas tent, the Hunter is the tent you need to order.
ARMY
DUCK - DOUBLE FILL QUALITY
- Army Duck-Double Fill- A high quality canvas.
- All Hunter
camping canvas tents made of 10.1 oz "Army Duck - Double Fill"
.
- Two threads twisted together making one
single thread creating a more durable and stronger canvas thread.
Double threads are woven both lengthwise and crosswise.
- More durable than other types of canvas
material and makes a much tighter weave.
- Tighter weave keeps heat in and moisture
out better than other types of canvas. This is a quality winter tent.
Ange kits: Purchasing angle kits and then purchasing
1” inside diameter, thin walled, electrical conduit (slightly
less than 1 1/4 " outside diameter) at a local hardware store
is the most economical approach to purchasing an internal frame.
Internal frame shipping charges are very high due to the weight of
an internal frame. I will provide assistance if you have trouble
understanding angle kit instructions. Typical frame savings using
an angle kit on a 12x14 internal frame is $200. For more info go to Angle Kit page.

CHARACTERISTICS - ALL HUNTER
MODELS
- These quality camping canvas tents for sale are made in the United States.
- Colors: White only.
- Standard door has a zipper. Or a tie door with 10-12" overlap,
a $35.00 option, state when ordering, if not specified zipper door
will be shipped.
- Stove jack available in 4", 5" or 6" stove pipe
opening. Location of stovejack is customer preference, if not specified
it will be on the left side as you enter the tent.
- Stove jack flap has ties to secure when not in use.
- Each grommet has a nylon web between two layers of canvas to increase
strength and durability.
- Each end of tent ridge has grommets 2 1/2" from ends. Very
useful to tie a fly on to insure the fly doesn't touch the hot stove
pipe.
- 10 ton kick press used to install grommets to insure tightness.
- Double stitching for increased strength and durability.
- Reinforced corners at end of tent. 3 layers of canvas rolled over
and double stitched for extra strength.
- Steel spike/stakes included.
- 10" sod cloth made of vinyl. Vinyl sod cloth prevents canvas
tent bottom acting as a wick drawing in water. Sod cloth also acts
as an air seal against the ground and helps keep the tent clean.
- Ridgepole socks with drawstrings. Permits use of a wood pole (lodgepoles)
for ridge.
- Ridgepole socks are normally an option for $50 on other tents.
- Walls are 4'8" finished size. 4'8" walls are quite
satisfactory because tables, cots and stoves are against the walls.
Therefore, a person normally doesn't walk close to the wall. I'm
6' and have no complaints with 4'8" walls.
- A full 5' wall (finished size) can be ordered for an additonal
10 % of tent price.
- A full 6' wall (finished size) can be ordered for an additonal
20% extra of the tent price.
- As normal with most camping canvas tents the finish size of the tent dimensions
will be plus or minus 3-6 inches.
- 12 oz canvas tent available, add 12% to tent 10 oz price.

NOTE: If
you require a 10 foot awning, porch or cook shack add 25% to 8 foot
price listed above.
NOTE: Any size/length of
awning, porch, cook shack can be made. If you already have a tent and you need a fly, awning, porch , or cookshack - a custom fly, awning , porch or cookshack can be made to your tent specifications.
Floor: Floor sewn in or a stake in floor - your choice. 13 oz brown or white
canvas water/mildew treated or poly material. Hunter canvas tents for sale that have the sewn in
floor option will have an inverted T zipper. Stove zippered
area to remove floor when stove in use. Floor is recommended foe camping wall tents if inclement weather is anticipated.
Recommendation: I prefer a vinyl floor because it is
very waterproof and easy to clean. Canvas floors may begin
to mildew if in contact with wet ground for prolong periods
of time. Especially if coolers and other objects are on the
canvas floor which prevents the canvas from breathing.
Rain Fly: Stove jack area cut out and reinforced with webbing.
Clear poly material - 100% UV protection. Fly center ridge grommets
on each ridge end. Includes ropes, tensioners,
stakes/spikes. A fly is recommended for any type of tent you purchase. The fly will protect your roof if a stove pipe spark lands on the roof, fly protects canvas roof from UV rays, fly provides another moisture barrier, and fly also keeps the roof clean especially when camping under trees when pitch can drip from the trees.
Awning: Extension of roof only. Sides and front open. Awning can be
sewn to tent or a seperate extension with 8-12 inch overlap. Includes
ropes, tensioners, stakes/spikes.
Porch: Extension of roof and walls of the tent. Front is open.
Porch can be sewn to camping canvas tents or seperate extension with 8-12 inch overlap.
Includes ropes, tensioners, stakes/spikes.
Cook Shack: Extension of roof, walls, front enclosed with
a door. Cook shack provides a totally enclosed area for storage
and cooking. Can be sewn on or extension with 8-12 inch overlap.
Includes ropes, tensioners, stakes/spikes. Camping canvas tent stove jack
is an option - $35.00.
Four season tent and winter tent. With a fly, the hunter tent can withstand extremely rough weather.
