Spike Tent. INCLUDES POLES AND SEWN IN FLOOR
SELKIRK SPIKE TENT - ARMY DUCK - DOUBLE FILL QUALITY
3 Pole roof support design - front- center - back - poles allows for extra headroom at the front and the rear of the spike tent for easy entry and more standing room inside than single and double pole spike tents.
OUTSIDE WALL POLES - 1 ON EACH CORNER AND 1 IN THE MIDDLE OF SIDE WALLS (middle outside wall support pole is not shown in photo) 3/4 " aluminum outside pole diameter.
Floor and side walls sewn together with black webbing for extra reinforcement and strength. See photos below.
2 side windows - screened with flap. Top of flap has velcro and 2 sides of window flap have zippers which makes the windows wind and water proof.
Sewn in Floor. FOR YOUR SAFETY, it is strongly recommended you have a fireproof material under your stove, minimum overlap- 12" to front, 6" to sides and the back. We have fire mats available that go under stove for $35.
It is best to keep all floor seams off ground to eliminate possible water leakage into a tent. Canvak recommended for all floor seams if you have seams on ground.
Be advised some companies have sewn in floors but do not have extra door zippers at the bottom of door that are parallel to the ground, only a flap that covers the sewn in floor. Which means their spike tent is not bug or snake proof.
Our spike tent has an inverted T door zippers which makes our spike tent bug and snake proof. See door zipper photo.
*********************FRONT & BACK SCREEN DOORS $140 ***************************
Screen door covers entire end of tent to provide more ventilation than other tents which have partial screens on end of tent.
10 x 10 Screen doors do not have an inverted screen T zipper, just a regular zipper. Which means the screen doors are not entirely bug proof. 10 x 10 Canvas door has an inverted T zipper.
12 x 12 Screen Doors have a screen door inverted T zipper. A regular zipper on canvas door, not a T zipper.
14 x 14 Screen Doors have a screen door inverted T zipper. A regular zipper on canvas door, not a T zipper.
10 x10 and 12 x 12: The FRONT AND BACK DOORS of the tent are 6'4" and rises up to 7'11" at the center.
14x14 center height is 9'.
The walls are 4 feet. The 4' foot walls provide much more standing head room space inside the spike tent compared to other spike tents with only a 30 inch side wall.
DO NOT PLACE THE FLY ON THE TENT SO THE FLY TOUCHES THE WALL SIDE POLES. IF FLY TOUCHES SIDE POLE A HOLE WILL BE WORN INTO YOUR FLY.
It is best to use ridge ropes to connect to grommets on each ridge end of the fly to pull the fly taught so rain easily runs off the fly.
SNOW LOADS. SPIKE TENTS CANNOT WITHSTAND SNOW LOADS LIKE A WALL TENT. Wall tents have an internal rafters that support the roof. By their design, a spike tent has only 3 poles supporting the roof. These poles go through a grommet at the ridge and at each door. There is no warranty for grommet failure. If one of the grommets fail it is due to a heavy snow load. No warrantly on poles also. Bent roof poles can only occur during heavy snow loads. Normal use you will have no problems with the Selkirk and get many years of use. Not using common sense voids the warranty. Rich

FLY Benefits of a fly: prevents spark holes in roof, another moisture barrier, insulation, ultra violet rays protection, keeps roof clean and allows wter to run off roof area 1' past the side walls.. Fly is highly recommended.
FIRE PROOF MAT 3' X 4' $35 . Fire mat goes under stove.
PACKING IN ON HORSES. Never roll the tent into a round ball and try to use the spike tent as a top pack on your pack animal. Tents rolled round easily shift or roll to one side which immediately causes an unbalanced load to one side. A wreck is guaranteed which could injure your pack animal and will delay or ruin your hunting trip.
A tent should always be folded into a rectangle and placed in a canvas bag or mantied. Drape the tent over the top of the pack saddle. The tent should extend no farther than the bottom of the half breed on each side. A lash cinch should be used to secure the tent.
I use hard panniers on one pack animal to carry breakable items and for food storage to keep out bugs and critters. I use the top of my hard panniers as a shelf to store half of my poles on both sides. I use bungy cord to wrap my poles tightly together to prevent loss and also to insure the poles don't rattle all the way to camp or spook my horse.
